Pacific Odyssey Cruise
28-03-2019 to 14-04-2019
We are at last on holiday! Here is a view from our hotel room of the end of the runway. A plane is just landing. We travelled here on a double decker bus and we sat on the top deck at the front. A great view all the way.
We decided to take the City Hopper for a trip down the river. It had started to rain so this seems a good option. Colleen is waiting to board the ferry.
This is a photo of Brisbane from the river. It is interesting to see this old building nestling among the highrises.
Second day at sea. This is what I have to put up with. Sitting on the couch with a glass of wine and watching the ocean while waiting to go to dinner!
During the day we have two loungers reserved for us outside our stateroom door on to the deck.
In Noumea we did a walking tour of the town. The map showed a lookout which we walked up to and found closed for safety reasons. I took this photo across the town on the way down.
Today we were in Tadine, and this is the beach we were brought to. Perfect for a day of snorkelling.
Colleen.
Below are some of the fish and coral that we saw.
This fish is well camouflaged.
Pink coral.
These musicians greeted us when we arrived in Luganville.
The following photos are of our Coral Garden and Reef snorkelling excursion. This is one of the clams we saw.
We took the shuttle into town and then hired a water taxi to take us the long way back to ship.
A house on the shore with pigs.
The building on the right is a church. Our boatman lives behind the church.
Inter island ferries can sail close into the shore and use a ramp for loading and unloading.
This is the tender which took us to Mystery Island. It is unusual to have so few people on a tender trip.
Mystery Island airport.
The beach we snorkelled from. The weather was a bit cloudy.
These are some of the fish we saw.
