Pacific Odyssey Cruise
28-03-2019 to 14-04-2019
This morning they moved the lifeboat, which is above us, out for maintenance.
This is not a view we usually see.
We did not have anything planned for Lautoka. It was Sunday and only a couple of shops were open for us tourists. I just took a couple of photos from the ship. The first one looking towards town, about a 20min walk away. The second one taken in the other direction.
Last time we were here we had booked and excursion to snorkel at light house reef. This time we just went for a walk in town. This is a view from along the shore.
We saw this mudskipper on our walk, it is not very big and well camouflaged.
I spotted these colourful crabs. You can see that they are also small by the size of the leaves.
On our return to the ship the tender had to wait for the one at the pontoon to load and leave.
This is Dravuni Island and a path to the lookout. A short way along this path we went down to the beach.
The weather was cloudy but the snorkelling was good.
I took the path up to the lookout. As you can see there were sights of various types!
Here is a telephoto view of the dock taken from the lookout.
This photo shows the climb up to the top. It is a steep part taken on the way down.
Just to prove we did snorkel, here is a photo of Colleen with some coral.
Here is an early morning view of the Treaty House at Waitangi, taken from the ship.
Here are two photos taken in the Bay of Islands of the same point, one in the morning on arrival, and one taken just before leaving.
What a view to start our last day of the cruise. This is dawn at Mount Mangonui where the ship docked.
This is the Mount viewed from the ship.
Here are two photos taken on the ocean side of the Mount showing our beautifully sunny day
